The presentation on Wednesday, January 11th at Science And Nature On Tap at the St. Lawrence River Institute for Environmental Studies was very well received. The room was packed with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants. Larry presented on the theme of A Shared Responsibility, A Shared Response and the need for respecting the land through reconciliation and diversity. The history of the partnership between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada was presented in the context of the wampum belt which sought a relationship of mutual respect and shared respect for protecting the land. Larry reviewed the international agreements which cover our collective responsibilities to the environment and spoke about a number of initiatives which are abiding by the principles embodied in these agreements. We will best honour our responsibilities to future generations by working together to care for the land
