Youth Reconnecting With Nature

Recently, Plenty Canada has received a grant from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and the Turnbull Foundation. With this grant, we have been working to restore our trails here at our headquarters in Lanark and design educational workshops for children and youth. We will be hosting these workshops in the later part of summer 2015 to showcase their new green space and several new programs for the public. Public programs include wildlife conservation, invasive species, and passing on aboriginal traditions.

On site, we boast an impressive wildlife area with a pond, an observation field and a nature trail, as well as a main building for group gathering. It is Plenty Canada’s mission to deliver an integrated and immersing learning experience for any age. Our team will deliver a sound base of programming or to provide space for you and your group to explore outdoor educational activities independently.

Plenty Canada Programming Staff strive to educate and inform others of methods for environmental conservationism, and the protection of Indigenous knowledge and traditions. For many years, we have worked locally and internationally to meet our mandates; showcasing our long history of positive, enriching educational experiences. We believe that public education surrounding these issues is an essential, enjoyable, and educational experience for all involved.

Our workshop will include:
 birch bark basket making or dreamcatcher making
, trail education of trees, invasive species, species at risk, climate change, tree planting and both demonstrations and education on traditional aboriginal knowledge,
