Sharing of Indigenous Knowledge

Assistance in the preservation and promotion of traditional Indigenous knowledge systems to protect the bio-diversity of Mother Earth, promote inclusive contemporary management and development of forestry, aquatic, agricultural, social and cultural resources for the good of all future generations who share the land.

Indigenous ways of knowing including associated knowledge systems have great variety. Not only are these systems a reflection of the many Indigenous nations but a reflection of environmental conditions that shape relationships between Indigenous communities and the rest of the life around them. Hence Indigenous ways of knowing cultivated over several millennia are deep repositories of knowledge that can provide critical information for insuring a sustainable future for all of our children.
